Self-adhesive modified bituminous membranes are comprised of asphalt and polymers. The membrane is reinforced with a glass mat. Membranes designed for exposure to the elements are typically surfaced with mineral sand. The self-adhesive layer is covered by a silicone release film, which can be easily detached during installation.
